Christine Moonbeam is an experienced partner acrobatics, handstand and dance instructor offering workshops, weekend intensives, 5 day immersions, handstand workshops, and teacher mentorship programs globally. She advocates cultivating partner acrobatics as an inclusive, artistic co-creation that develops practitioners through healthy relationship building and dedication to empowering each other in their role. In any movement practice, it is always a journey of finding the balance between training and play. Her goal is to create safe and enriching training space to foster her students’ exploration and work toward their goals.
Christine is the founder of Christine Moonbeam Acro co-founder of LIFT School of Acrobatics and Colorado Acro Fest, coach at Pitch Catch Circus, an Acro Rev Teacher, a RYT 200 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Iowa. She began studying dance & tumbling and teaching at an early age and competed throughout the country in all disciplines earning numerous accolades & awards. She discovered social circus through volunteering as a tumbling teacher with Zip Zap Circus in DC. It was here that she first encountered acro and it was there that passion took flight!
Christine values her studentship as much as much as her role as a teacher. As much as she holds space for her students’ learning, she is a student herself and she believes in the mindset expressed in this quote by John Cotton Dana, “Who dares to teach must never cease to learn.” She has studied partner acrobatics, specifically H2H, Icarian and handstands with Dutch teachers, sports acro coaches, and circus coaches in the US, Europe, and Canada. Her practice has been most influenced by coaches, Jean Luc Martin from the San Diego Circus Center, Yuval Ayalon of “Yuval on Hands” and Sainna from the London School of Handbalancing, Niko Douwes, and Gawain Dupree.
Christine’s more than 20 years of training and teaching have given her a well developed eye for alignment and movement, and her ability to give skillful and compassionate feedback leads to student success. Christine’s mission is to make partner acro, handstands and movement fun, empowering, healthy, and accessible by providing high quality instruction to all levels of practitioners. Cultivate magic through movement practice!
