Acro Movement

Ezra LeBank

L-Base. All Levels. Learn about weight transfer techniques to connect with a partner and create reciprocal acrobatics patterns that will twist your brain and level up your proprioception. These moves are an exciting change of pace from static basing structures, and can serve as transition material for acrobats interested in creating dynamic performances.

Prerequisites: No Prerequisites

Whops

Debbie Collis & Josh Young

Whips & Pops. Intermediate. Explore whips & pops and how they come together to make whops and flows.

Prerequisites: Front swing, Rev Throne whip, basic pops.

Dance Lifts

Jeremy Martin

Standing. Intermediate. Have some fun. Learn some things. Make pretty shapes. Do silly things. Guaranteed to raise some eyebrows at various muggle gatherings and shindigs.

Prerequisites: High side star, attack hugs, and being able to do a forward roll by yourself.

Intro to L Basing Hand to Hand

Kylee Baze & Woodrow Greenwald

Hand to Hand. Intermediate. This class will cover warm-ups and progressions to assist in your journey to h2h: including basics of h2h grip, handstand shape, and how to find strength and balance in the position. We will have an emphasis on spotting and technique to keep the class safe and fun!

Prerequisites: Bases can base a star and flyer can hold a 3 second assisted handstand.

L-Base Fancy footwork

L-Base. Int/Adv.

You’re gonna get what I love to do: tricky transitions and fancy footwork. Come learn your next favorite machine. But better yet, learn how to make your footwork more fluid, your transitions more seamless, and your flyer even happier!

Prerequisites: Comfortable with tick-tocks, transitions through star, internal and external steps. Comfortable with inversions. Comfortable with clumsy pickpocket (or a similar machine)

Cartwheels and getting Knotty

Standing. Advanced. An advanced hand to hand sequence including cartwheels to hand to hand and knots.

Prerequisites: Standing h2h with no steps, as well as standing h2h with 5 purposeful steps in each direction to show control.

Acro Basics

Lux

L-Base. All Levels. Looking at some details of how we make connections with hands and feet at shoulders and hips. Come back to the basics to dive deeper into your practice.

Intelligent Training Machines

Chelsey Magness & Jason Magness

Washing Machines. All Levels. Not all “washing machines” are created equal. Many are no more than specific magic tricks which have little or no relevance to creating lasting skill, technique and endurance in your practice. But some washing machines have qualities that transcend through all levels of practice, creating wisdom in how we move, balance and communicate. Through repetition they elevate our understanding of all acrobatics. Why learn 10 washing machines, when you can learn the 1 that teaches you all 10!

Prerequisites: 30 sec star, 15 sec tuck sit, Reverse star entry

Embody the Wind

Adagio. Intermediate. Let the spirit of air possess your corporeal form and slip free from the structure of lines and held shapes. Breathe into your inner dancer and learn a sequence of shared possibility, weaving through the loose webs of gravity to unleash the ethereal flow of acro adagio.

Prerequisites: Standing high-sidestar (not necessary for all elements of the flow)

Standing. Intermediate. Standing sequence with reverse F2H, Catwalks, Pirouette & toss half twist

Tricky Balances, Continued

Linnea Sablosky & Christopher Filkins

L-Base. Int/Adv. Linnea & Chris will share inversion entrances and transitions that require no hands for either base or flyer. This class requires strong mono leg lifts, squats, and listening feet from the base. From the flyer: solid inversions, active side star engagement, and patient fluidity in balancing. This class will be a continuation of what we offered last year with new and extended content as well as extensive exercises to help you build a healthy long-term free-balance practice.

Prerequisites: Mono reverse star (flyer hands okay), free side star, free star.

MORE Funky Washing Machines

Washing Machines. Int/Adv. Some strong, some bendy, some flow, some press. Grab our new machines and run with new tricky tricks to add to your funky machine arsenal.

Prerequisites: Side-stars in your sleep, Barrel Rolls till you barf, an openness to our dark web of humor.

Thai and Fly

Deven Sisler & Alexis Burton

L-Base. All Levels. Explore passive transitions from the floor to the air and from flying to the ground to connect your thai-ing with your fly-ing. Then we will share our favorite relaxing Thai sequences for sore Acrobats and AcroYogis.

Dual Balance

Chelsey Magness & Jason Magness

L-Base. Intermediate. For the past many years Jason and Chelsey have been perfecting the art of dual balance. Through this very physical and mental practice, they have been able to overcome some challenging obstacles both in relationship and life. Come learn some of their favorite slacker transitions and the lessons that have come from them! This will be sure to challenge and inspire your practice in more ways than one, come with an open mind!

Prerequisites: 1 min foot to hand, foot to shin, 10 sec liberty (or working towards it)

Mendel & Bassam are joining forces with an extra special guest teacher. Together they will share their passion for the trio Acroyoga practice! Come and learn hot trio poses, transitions and progressing into a trio flow! Yes, a trio flow!

This workshop will be full of fun, sass and collaborative material. You will learn how to create a medley of amazing three person poses and counterbalances all woven together to create smooth transitions. You will stick different styles of poses from belly basing, L-basing and Standing! Be prepared to have a huge smile on your face!

Backwhips: AKA Icarian Back Layout

Alison Pin & Taylored Acro

Icarian. Int/Adv. A core skill in your icarian journey and something that is just damn fun. Come join Alison and Taylor in this floaty, fun and joyous class where we will pop, spin and land!! Together we’ll break down this skill with progressive building and development of core skills.

Prerequisites: Icarian throne pops, fast feet, soft catches, strong mental game, excitement and a willingness to explore

Unique H2H Entrances

Standing. Advanced. Right when you thought there were no new ways to get into hand to hand. We will work on four unique entrances to hand to hand and reverse hand to hand.

Prerequisites: 5 second hand to hand (regular and reverse) no walking, Rock n roll, some experience toe pitching

Acropeutics

Therapeutics. All Levels. This class will dive deep into acropeutics, and explore intermediate and advanced variations of therapeutic moves.

The Loopty-Swoop

Sariah Papaya & Sean Keehan

L-Base. Intermediate. Tricky moves that roll and swoop into the connected flow. Transitions we love with fun entrances and exits. Opportunities to add your personalized swoop, scoop, twist and roll throughout. Come learn our favorites and create your own with the blueprint!

Prerequisites: Popping sidestar tick-tocks, Side-stars in your sleep, Barrel Rolls till you barf, an openness to our dark web of humor.

Candy Cane

Lux

L-Base. Intermediate. Another spinning twisting puzzle to solve and make smooth. Contacts with hips and shoulders hand and feet of flyer.

Prerequisites: This is an upper level intermediate class. Soft and strong rotation on flyers hip, and good range of motion with stable reverse foot to hand.

Half twist Corbettes

Jon Rea

Icarian. Intermediate. Most of you can pop out of reverse star, but can you pop into it, too? This class will teach a variety of ways to pop into reverse star–including a half twist!–along with the soft catches and flyer bails that will help you want to train safely. Come ready to be a hands-on spotter and level up your reverse star game!

Prerequisites: Proficient jump into reverse star. Bird to reverse star pop (with hands). Experience with pops from reverse star (ie. rev star to throne).

Russian Rolls

Liz Breen-Golan & Joe Yonek

Adagio. Int/Adv. The technical skill of a base holding a flyer in F2H while rolling onto their belly and then to their back will be broke down in easy to digest steps that will rock your F2H practice and unlock this advanced skill.

Prerequisites: 30 sec L base F2H

Twisty Bed Icarian

Ash Peltz & Matt Radford

Icarian. Advanced. Are you ready to twist and flip your way through bouncy bed pops with AcroMash!?! We’ll work through foundations and progressions to easily integrate these pops into your dynamic acro machines. Get ready for some abdominal activation and fancy footwork!

Prerequisites: Bed straight throw, Bed full turn, Some tempo experience.
